The Drawing Box Project

The Drawing Box Project was founded and launched in 2020, inspired by Keighley Creative founding members, artists and studio holders Naseem Darbey and Gemma Hobbs. Funded by an Arts Council England Emergency Grant during the Covid-19 crisis as a way of supporting community connection and wellbeing through creative practice. Since then it has developed beyond our wildest dreams!

Arts for Brain Health

Arts for Brain Health

Our brains are amazing. They are made up of around 86 billion nerve cells, and there are literally trillions of connections between these nerve cells which are constantly sending and receiving chemical and electrical messages. These messages control everything we do, helping us to think, feel, move, plan, learn, see, hear, smell, and solve problems, they affect our moods, our emotions, levels of energy, motivation and much, much more. The more we stimulate our brains, the more nerve connections we make and the better our brains work. Making art is fun but it’s also a workout for our brains!

Arts and Heritage Community Project

Arts and Heritage

Lauren has worked across in partnership with many local organisations, artists and communities to explore how heritage and creativity can support community development opportunities in neighbourhoods, and develop and deliver a programme that brings arts, heritage and cultural activites directly to local people in Keighley.
